Kevin Veal born and raised in Mount Vernon NY. Attended Mount Vernon High and upon graduation he went to Bronx Community College; where he majored in graphic designing.
Since the tender age of five he began rapping and performing locally; as well as showcasing his talents anywhere his art form was accepted. From local talent shows, house/block parties, etc. in which earned him the M.C. (Mastered Of Creativity) KEV by his closest family and friends.
Not only did he Rap he also had a natural gift to draw and was put into advance art classes throughout his entire schooling. As he cultivated both he was considered to be a young prodigy amongst his peers.
In 1987 he caught the attention of Kirt Woodley who was the head A&R at Uptown MCA. That meeting led him to begin working with DJ Eddie F. from the legendary rap group Heavy D. And The Boyz. In which he learned song structure, how to count bars.
!997 he was sentenced to 25 years at the age 22 in federal prison for armed bank robbery. Even though on the surface his future looked grim. It did not deter him from what he klove to do, create Art! So while in federal prison he continued his journey in music by performing shows for staff. Honing his talents and gifts; mentoring, teaching, facilitating and rendering his services to those who were misguided and lost as he was.
This profound lifestyle gave him new hope with a motivational drive to succeed and become better in all aspects of his being. Turning trial into triumph became his motto.
Released in 2018 now mature and mentally equipped he continue to mentor troubled youth through art. This is a way he give back to his community to show one can be positive despite any short comings or curve balls that life may throw at you.
Since being home he received a Proclamation, Resolution, Citation and have been named “ The Crown Jewel Of Westchester ” in which was given to him by the Mayor of Mount Vernon Shawn Patterson through the Gyles Foundation.
He since have done commissioned work for numerous of celebrities like Case, JadaKiss, Mary J. Blige, Kenny Money, Luka Brozy just to name a few. He's been featured in numerous articles, magazines and newspapers such as Don Diva, Black Westchester Newspaper, Canvas Rebel, Blaze Magazine and Nerve Cowboy.
As a Philanthropist he constantly give back by teaching art at the Rye Arts Center, Don Boscoe Community Center, Arts Mobile through Arts Westchester, several Sip N Paints and art exhibitions throughout New York and beyond.
